I always want to start by going after your most important keywords
The very first thing I do once signed up is to have my links builders get started; since we only build hand entered links it takes an entire month for them to get the links done so we need to start ASAP. The next step is writing the on-site optimization for your website. Once that is written we can either put it on the site for you or if you have a person managing your site we can give it to them on a word doc to implement. My goal is to have this done on the first day if possible. If your site is very large it could take a few days.
Google scans your website pretty much every other weekend so depending on when they last scanned it could be after that weekend that the new optimization starts to show up or after the weekend after that. That will give us a good idea of what keywords you are going to need to most help on, You may see some substantial rise in some of your relevant keywords but I want to say do not hold your breath it only happens about 50% of the time.
We will also start tracking your rankings from the start so we can see the movement as it happens. At the end of the first month you will get a report showing you the links that we have build for you as well as your rank tracking report. We expect you to see movement in that first month.

Because this is all we do and because we do it for more than one website. When Google decides to change the algorithm in dramatic fashion as they have a few times we have the tools necessary to evaluate what those changes are. With this last update we saw a couple of sites drop but most did not. We were quickly able to determine what was different about those sites vs the ones that did not drop and make the adjustments to bring them back to the top. If we had just the one site we were working on it would have taken longer to sort out. On top of that hiring a full time person in house will generally cost you more than just hiring experts.
